SADC COMMITTEE MEETING OF MINISTERS RESPONSIBLE FOR TRANSPORT, COMMUNICATIONS, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND METEOROLOGY

The Meeting of the SADC Committee of Ministers responsible for Transport, Communications, Information Technology and Meteorology was held from 24 to 28 February 2025 in Harare, Republic of Zimbabwe.



During the first three (3) days of intense work, the senior officials of the member countries discussed and analysed the annotated Agenda, in order to ensure a solid foundation for the discussions and deliberations at the Ministers' meeting on February 28th.

February 27th was reserved for the High Level SADC Ministerial Roundtable discussion on Infrastructure to Support the North-South Corridor in Southern Africa, with the main subject being ‘Promoting Innovation to Unlock Opportunities for Sustainable Economic Growth and Development Towards an Industrialised SADC’. The North-South Corridor connects the main corridors in southern Africa, including the Lobito corridor.

The Angolan delegation is led by the Secretary of State for Land Transport, Jorge Bengue, representing the Minister of Transport, and also includes the Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Information Technology, Ângelo Miguel Buta João, the Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of ANAC, Amélia Domingues Kuvíngua, senior officials from the Ministry of Transport, ANAC, the National Land Transport Agency, the National Maritime Agency, INAMET and National Space Programme Management Cabinet officials.
