ANGOLA REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO INTERNATIONAL CIVIL AVIATION AT 14TH MEETING OF ICAO FACILITATION PANEL

The Angolan delegation, representing the National Civil Aviation Authority (ANAC), is composed of the Director of Air Safety and Facilitation, Tito Castro, and the Facilitation Inspector, Macanda Zola. The presence of these experts reflects Angola's institutional commitment to monitoring and influencing global policies governing the dynamics of international air transport.

FALP/14 brings together leading experts and representatives of Contracting States to discuss critical issues that directly impact border efficiency and the passenger experience. Among the most relevant points on the agenda, the following stand out:

• Global Harmonization: Strategies to standardize facilitation measures and travel documents among States;

• Accessibility: Improved provisions for passengers with reduced mobility, ensuring a more inclusive sector;

• Social Responsibility and Ethics: Evaluation of ICAO standards for combating wildlife trafficking and the implementation of the outcomes of the 42nd Assembly (A42) on combating trafficking in human beings and illegal migration;

• Technology Enablement: Advances in the Public Key Directory (PKD) to ensure the authenticity of electronic travel documents;

• Humanitarian Support: Discussion on Assistance to Victims of Air Accidents and their Families (AVAAF), a topic of high sensitivity and importance for the sector.

ANAC's active participation in this technical meeting allows Angola to align its national policies with international best practices, facilitating the movement of aircraft, crews, passengers and cargo. This commitment is critical to the effective implementation of Annex 9 of the Chicago Convention, which deals with Facilitation, ensuring that the country continues to raise its levels of compliance with ICAO audits.
