Angola is taking part in the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Facilitation Conference - FALC 2025, taking place in Doha, Qatar, from the 14th to 17th April, under the slogan: ‘Facilitating the air transport future’. In his opening speech, the Qatari Minister of Transport, Shaikh Mohammed Bin Abdulla Bin Mohammed Al Thani, welcomed the participants and referred to the relevance of the event for the growth of international civil aviation, with the aim of creating a more inclusive ecosystem that is increasingly aligned with the facilitation standards defined by ICAO. In his turn, the acting President of the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority, Mohamed Faleh Al-Hajri, emphasised the excellent opportunity for the world to look to the future of facilitation with confidence. On the occasion, ICAO Chairman, Salvatore Sciacchitano reinforced that the implementation of facilitation programmes is an obligation of states, in order to materialise the necessary transformations for the effective implementation of cooperation and coordination principles. The conference was attended by senior officials from ICAO member states, civil aviation authorities and ministries of health, interior, tourism, immigration, customs and foreign affairs, representatives of international organisations, industry stakeholders and the private sector. The Angolan delegation for the technical segment was led by ANAC's Safety Administrator, Emanuel Kandengue. FALC 2025 is a unique opportunity for States and aviation stakeholders to explore advances in air transport facilitation, providing a platform for participants to collaborate on a global facilitation strategy that allows adaptation and responsiveness to rapid developments in civil aviation. The event will focus on promoting collaboration, efficiency and inclusion in global air transport and will be a significant milestone following the celebrations of the Year of Facilitation in 2024, the 75th anniversary of Annex 9 - Facilitation and ICAO's 80th anniversary. |
