The National Civil Aviation Authority (ANAC) took part at the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Regional Facilitation Forum, held in Yaoundé, Cameroon, from 3 to 4 March this year, with the main focus on discussing and improving the provisions of Annex 9 of the International Civil Aviation Convention. The meeting sought to bring together representatives from various nations to discuss and promote the facilitation of civil aviation and the effective implementation of safety standards and practices. The Angolan delegation was led by the Administrator for Security, Emanuel Candengue, along with the Air Transport Facilitation Inspector, Mr Macanda Zola. The ICAO Facilitation Forum, under the theme ‘(Seamless Skies) Efficient Facilitation for a Connected World’, aims to continue activities to raise awareness and support the implementation of the ICAO Facilitation Year 2024, while celebrating the 75th anniversary of Annex 9. The forum's talks focused on strengthening intercollaboration between entities, harmonisation of procedures, infrastructure and equipment related to the implementation of facilitation procedures, human capital, optimisation of the passenger experience, technological advances for the modernisation and simplification of air transport facilitation processes, as well as the verification of travel documents, and other aspects related to air facilitation, with an emphasis on the effective implementation of the provisions of Annex 9. |
